I decided to do merchandise as one of my deliverables because there is nothing an esports fan loves as much as merchandise. It's also free advertising.
So I created a moodboard of common esports merchandise I found on the web, that are made by famous teams. I chose the red, white, black color scheme as it is the color scheme of Slayer Esports.
These were my initial merchandise mockups.
I chose the most common types for the two most common types of merchandise; Tops (Hoodies, Jerseys, etc) and Accessories (Bottles, Lanyards, Hats, Phone Cases, etc).
I created two different Jerseys as most esports brands offer one plain Jersey without a name and a Jersey where you can customize the name on the back.
I created this mockup website to showcase my merchandise.
The website features a home page, with an ongoing sale.
After speaking with some friends and my lecturer, they gave me feedback that I should make the merchandise on the home page Black and Red, as although the Cherry Blossom colors look cool, Black and Red would suit the theme of the website more.
I implemented the new merch color, along with a new text layout, as the old one was all over the place and hard to read. I also changed the font for the sidebar menu to a sans-serif font as the previous font looked out of place. I fixed the background as it was a bit "clumpy" and not consistent.Â
I added the "Slayer Essentials" scrolling text on the side and it would change depending on what Collection the Sale Item belongs to, and it also partially hides the weird website edge.
