About Me

My name is Arnold Rueben

I have been a huge fan of fantasy movies for as long as I can remember and have always been fascinated by the 3D Animation and VFX in them. Another large interest of mine is computers and technology and I spend most of my time either playing games, watching YouTube/Movies, or being creative. With my passion for fantasy movies and my passion for computers, I gave VFX and 3D Animation a go earlier last year with help from a friend who does it as a hobby and an upgraded PC that could actually run Cinema 4D (His favorite software) and After Effects, and I really enjoyed it!

As mentioned previously, I am a huge fan of fantasy movies (As demonstrated by the various fantasy memorabilia cluttering my room), and a large part of that is the amazing VFX and 3D Animation work. As a child, I was always fascinated by the vast armies in Lord of the Rings, the epic space battles in Star Wars, and the beautiful magic in Harry Potter. Additionally, I have been watching the Corridor Crew YouTube channel for a very long time, and have probably seen every “VFX Artists React” video they’ve ever made (Which has also partly ruined movies for me). I can see myself doing this for a living, as I have a passion for making my ideas come to life. I am also a perfectionist and am not satisfied with my work until I can’t come up with any way to improve it (impossible).

School & Extra-Curricular Activities

During Intermediate I was part of my school's VEX IQ robotics team. We attended Nationals, where we came 5th, narrowly missing out on going to the World Championship.

During High School, I was part of our Vex VRC Robotics Team, where we won Nationals, and sent a robot to the World Championships in Kentucky, where we came 17th out of 96 teams.
I was also part of the Digital Science class, Computing class, and Electronics class.

During my first year at Media Design School I became President of the MDS Games Club - The largest club at the school with over 350 members. My role included managing the discord server and organizing events.

During my second year I also became the Ambassador for the MDS Esports Club - the MDS Minotaurs. It was my job to communicate with other Universities to organize matches between our teams.
